2-Months & 21-Months!
Shane is finally 2-months old today. Grow baby grow! I hate the first 3 months. I can't wait until he's 4-5 months old! This has been a busy month for the Jones household.
Shane:
*Although he is officially sleeping through the night, his sleep is much more sporadic. He sleeps anywhere between 7-10 hours overnight. And he takes 1 nap a day (about 3-4 hours long). Other than that, he catnaps all day. Nothing substantial except for that long nap (which just happens to take place at the same time as Avery's 1 nap)!
*His bedtime is always around 8pm.
*He rolled over from his tummy to his back. JUST like his sister, he did it early and then has yet to do it again.
*Smiling. He's so different from Avery. At this age, Avery was VERY smiley. Shane is a very serious baby. He has smiled, but it's random and not often.
Avery:
*Went to Barnum & Bailey's Circus for the 1st time! She loved the 1st 30 minutes. She was really interested in the acrobats. But once the tigers came out, she lost interest. She got really restless and wanted to go up and down the stairs instead of watching the circus. It was quite the workout. Then when I thought the circus was finally over after about an hour, it was just intermission. So we left. I couldn't put up with her for one more second at the circus. Note to self: elementary age for the circus.
*Went to 1 Gymnastics class. Started the Tiny Totz class at ASI Gymnastics. All the other kids were around 3, so she was definitely the youngest. She loved jumping on the trampoline, freaked during circle time because she wanted to play, loved the pit, freaked when we moved on, loved doing forward rolls, but didn't want to stop. She was completely done after 30-minutes. The class was 50-minutes long, which I think is too long for her age group. We won't be going back until she's older.
*Avery got her 1st fever, 101.5. I think it was teething? I'm not sure. She was being so good all day, translation quiet. Then in the evening, she laid down in my lap. She's never affectionate, so I was wondering what was going on. I gave her a bath and she was really warm, her skin was red and she had goosebumps. I took her temperature and it was 101.5. She looked so pitiful. I cried because she's never been sick before and I felt so helpless. Her fever was gone by the next day which is why I think it was teething.
Me:
*Went to the dentist for the 3rd time. Got 3 shots, 2 crowns, and 4 fillings. I go back Wednesday to get my last 2 fillings. THANK GOD!
*Got Mastitis. I felt like I was dying. The day of the circus I woke up with slight chills and aches. My left breast was really tender and hurt. I was scared I had Mastitis. After the circus, my chills got much worse, so I took a nap. After my nap, I woke up and felt like I was on fire. Heat was emanating from my body. I had Chris take my temperature, 101.8. I started antibiotics and about 24 hours later I was feeling like myself again.
*Officially back on Weight Watchers. I started at 7-weeks post partum. I've lost about 5 pounds already!!! So exciting!
*AND I have exclusively breastfed for 2 months!!!! I actually tried to give up, but Shane spit/threw up the entire bottle of formula. So back to breastfeeding. I am glad because I wanted to make it to a MINIMUM of 4-months and felt guilty about stopping. However, I still don't enjoy breastfeeding. He is eating every 1.5-2 hours and I'm sick of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I'm on a leash, a very short one. I keep praying that it will get easier and that he'll start eating every 3-4 hours soon...PLEASE!
